We Are Surfers Just Like You

We started in 2008 as an informal group that organized our surf outings through an online community called Tribal Surf. Word spread and our community grew. Aside from regular outings that took place all along the California coast, we featured local surfers in exclusive interviews including established icons like the late Sean Collins as well as entrepreneurs with new ventures all aimed at making surfing better.

In Hawai’ian, Ulu Pono means
“To thrive on a noble path”

In 2018, we reinvented ourselves as a maker of branded surf merchandise under the name UIupono Surf Company. Our mission is an extension of our former selves in that we aim to cater to the surfer and not to the masses. Our designs reflect the core of surfing in a way that only surfers can truly understand. We invite local surfers to be part of the Ulupono ohana (family) by being our designers, models, and photographers. We thrive on furthering the surfing lifestyle and making a positive impact any way we can. Consistent with this mission and translated from Hawai’ian, ulu pono means, “to thrive on a noble path.”

We are Ulupono. And we are surfers. Just like you. Join us …
